Wonderfully Made
A colorful sampler which matches the exuberance of the design elements - this is based on an antique sampler I own, filled with fanciful flora and fauna. Instead of reproducing the sampler, I chose to adapt it and incorporate the verse from Psalm 139: You are beautiful, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
First is a lovely piece I’ve stitched on silk gauze. The pretty green and gold colors are striking on the dark blue background (which is much easier to do on gauze versus stitching on black or dark blue linen!)
The linen sampler simply exudes happiness and would make a charming remembrance to mark the birth of a new member of your family. You are sure to enjoy stitching the purple deer, blue ducks, the red rabbits, and rather exotic flowers and plants.
The original sampler is extremely faded on the front side, but when removed from the frame, the back side proved to be ever so colorful. It was a bit much for me, so the colors used in the sampler shown on linen are muted a bit, while maintaining the variety and liveliness 13-year-old Jane Scott stitched into her work.

There is an error in the color key for the larger sampler shown on linen. The color "Gold" from Weeks Dye Works should be a small 'x' symbol.
Also, an error on the small chart: the solid heart symbol should be the 'hollow' circle symbol, stitched with "Blue Heron".
