Stingy Jack & Friends

Stingy Jack & Friends

This fun and quirky set of jack-o-lanterns is inspired by the legend of Stingy Jack, which is likely the basis for our contemporary jack-o-lantern traditions. Five distinct jack-faces with endless options to make your own unique, each face is stitched on a larger cut of fabric - then stitched up the back, gathered top and bottom, and tufted to make the models as shown here.

So many options depending on your fabric and floss selections - make them all different as I’ve shown here or a matching set in the same fabric and floss - or any combination you like! I’ve listed below the fabrics and flosses used in the models. Also included are finishing guidelines, templates and diagrams.

You will also notice some interesting display bases here. I’ve used an old glass insulator for Skinny Jack, and glass candlesticks turned upside down for Stingy Jack and Scary Jack. It’s fun to play with what you might already have around the house, or that interesting ‘thing’ you find in an antique store!
