Heirloom Tomato
All of us who use a needle and thread love our tomatoes and here is a prize-winning specimen from the ‘buttoned-up berry patch’. Tomatoes are traditionally a sign of prosperity and good fortune and were often placed on the mantel of a new home. Turning this good luck symbol into something permanent evolved into the pin cushion we now know, and it was often proudly displayed as part of a varied pin cushion collection.
Both the pin pillow and berry designs are included as well as the hand-dyed buttons.
