Forever Thine
This 'love letter' Valentine is inspired by a post card dated February 12, 1911 which was received (and kept) by a great-aunt of mine. The JABCo ‘love letter’ button and a brass heart charm are both included in this “buttoned-up” chartpak to embellish the pin pillow and berry as you like.
Notice the very subtle stitched hearts which blend with the linen ground fabric? That’s intentionally very low contrast to add texture to the background. Depending on your fabric selection, you may want to use another floss where Straw is indicated in the color key.
Stitch counts:
Pin Pillow: 79 s 64
Berry: 127 x 72
Fabric:
Access Commodities: 38 count Irish Coffee Legacy linen
Threads:
Weeks Dye Works: Aztec Red, Cayenne, Collards, Grasshopper, Straw*
Consider choosing an alternate color depending on your fabric selection.
Finishing:
Weeks Dye Works' wool: Garnet HT, Collards HT
"Love letter" button and brass heart charm are included.
Although the berry model says "Forever Thine" across the top of the roses, early printings of that chart say only "Forever" at the bottom point of the berry. The roses in the rest of the berry are the same - and the design for the pin pillow is correct.
If you wish to stitch the berry as shown in the model, please email me using the Contact page and I will send you a replacement for that page of your chartpak. My sincere apologies for the error - future copies have been corrected.
