Chrismons Motif Sampler

Chrismons Motif Sampler

Chrismons Motif Sampler

A collection of classic ‘Chrismons’ symbols brought together into a pretty motif sampler format. Chrismons or “Christ monograms” were first created in 1957 by Frances Spencer and the women of Acsension Lutheran Church in Danville, Virginia and are traditionally stitched in gold and white, so appear very striking on a Christmas tree.

Choose your favorite fabric and thread combination for these monochromatic pieces - details here are what were used in the models. The motif sampler provides a different take on the traditional ornaments, but separate charts are included if you prefer to stitch them for your tree. Also provided are brief descriptions and explanations for the motifs I’ve selected.
